A bike that’d do long miles both on and off road.

Get an adventure bike, ya wuss,” they said.

“Wot? A wuss rides a Honda Blackbird 1100?” was my snappy and edgy reply.

It was probably the worst time to bring it up. After a spirited fang through Kangaroo Valley mixing it with a couple of Fireblades I’d done a bike-swap onto Michael’s KTM 990 for a run down the exciting (not) Princess Highway. I fought hard to stay awake and just couldn’t see the point.
