The Alpine town of Bright will be the place to be on March 19 when the inaugural motorcycle Touratech Adventure Challenge hits town.
The day will feature the Adventure Challenge riders entering in a number of skill-based challenges throughout the day, while spectators will get to see the action first hand, as well as taking the opportunity to test ride motorcycles from seven different manufacturers.
Bright has an endless number of activities to keep visitors occupied, whether all family members are interested in the Adventure Challenge or not.
“Bright is the perfect place to base this brand new event,” Touratech’s Robin Box said.
“It’s a brilliant family location with gorgeous scenery, wineries and small breweries, the popular river swimming pool and destinations such as the iconic Mt Buffalo close by.
“Bright and the surrounding areas really do have something for everyone as they enjoy the perfect weekend away.”
Riders in the Touratech Adventure Challenge will participate over a range of unique skill-based challenges – both on and off the bike – as well as including some team components that will form part of the judging process.
The Adventure Challenge is based on events run by Touratech in Germany that have proven to be extremely popular.
It is open to riders of all abilities, starting with qualifying, followed by the event finals held on the Saturday afternoon. Riders are encouraged to bring their mates and enter as a group, or simply to bring their families and come along and spectate.
The Adventure Challenge is designed with spectators in mind and will offer great viewing.
A real highlight of the day will be the chance for members of the general public to view and test ride a large range of motorcycles from the industry’s leading brands.
Aprilia, BMW, Honda, KTM, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha will all be represented, making it the perfect chance for motorcyclists to compare bikes and test ride their desired machine. Test rides will get underway from 9am on the Saturday morning at Pioneer Park in Bright.
The Touratech Adventure Challenge tests will begin at 7.30am on Saturday, March 19, with riders returning to Pioneer Park at 3pm, before the finals are held between 4.30 and 6.30pm that afternoon.
Spectator maps will be available from Pioneer Park from 12pm on Friday afternoon, allowing enthusiasts to visit the various locations being used, and to witness the special tests first hand.
A video presentation of the day’s competition will be held at Pioneer Park from 7.30pm, with the event presentations to follow afterwards.
The new event offers an exciting new challenge for both competitors and spectators, with riders and families from all over Australia.
