A ‘circus’ bear, spawning salmon, a lazy beaver and an inquisitive squirrel awaited Don Bromfield as he planned his return to Canada’s Cariboo, Chilcotin and Coast areas of British Columbia.

Three weeks of riding an almost unlimited selection of adventure beckoned: coastal rainforest, snow-capped mountains and arid open-range grasslands were all calling. It’d been four years since I’d stored the KLR at a friend’s farm near Merritt in the Nicola Valley of British Columbia.
