Travis Beard’s Afghanistan adventures continue.

Numerous stops to snap ‘hero-shots’ – ‘selfies’ in today’s parlance. Kabul-to-Jalalabad highway overlooking Tang-e Gharu gorge or ‘Devil’s Gully’.

Tora Bora was only a short trip, but it was worth doing for two reasons: first, the sheer audacity of our intended destination – the former stomping ground of Osama bin Laden; and second, we had two Afghan riders with us for the first time.

Locals did accompany us on weekend rides, but not on trips outside the ‘safety net’ of Kabul.
