Motorcycle racing has four more inductees into the very exclusive Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame – superstars of both gravel and international ISDE Days Enduro (ISDE) heroes Jessica Gardiner, Tayla Jones and Jemma Wilson – while two-time MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has been elevated to Legend status.
The elevation took place at the 2025 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, in Melbourne on March 13, with Reed, Gardiner, Jones and Wilson inducted alongside five other motorsport luminaries: Chris Matheoson (Top Fuel dragster racing icon), Leo Primmer (six-time Bathurst champion) and Japanese Grand Prix winner, David Gan (late hot-rod national champion) and John Sidney (legendary NASCAR crew chief).
The ceremony also marked one of the first times the daughters and families of the celebrities were honoured.
Meanwhile, Stoner is now officially a Legend, joining Sir Jack Brabham, Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner. Mick Doohan, who was a special guest at the induction ceremony, stated the recognition was a “great honour” and cited Stoner’s outstanding contribution to the sport, with 38 Grand Prix victories including consecutive wins at Phillip Island, and World Championships in 2007 and 2011.
The trailblazing trio of now-retired Wilson, Gardiner and Jones combined to win the Women’s World Trophy at the ISDE from 2013-2018, with Gardiner and Jones also scooping individual honours during a golden period for Australian enduro. Gardiner and Jones are still eyeing off a seventh Women’s World Trophy title, even as the influence of their storied careers begins to wane in Italy.
Membership of the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame is an exclusive achievement with at most one inductee per year since the concept for it began in Australia on January 1, 2011. The Australian Motorsport Federation was a deciding authority.
Motorsport Australia is a stakeholder alongside Motorcycle Australia, Karting Australia, Australian National Drag Racing Association and Speedway Australia.
Other motorcycle racing inductees included Phil Crump, Jason Crump, Eric McKenna, Ken Rayment, Harry Hinton, Ken Kavanagh, Matt Mladin, Billy Sanders, Troy Bayliss, and Casey Stoner, Gardiner, Leigh Adams, Troy Corser, Tom Phillis, Jack Ahearn, Prague, and many others.
