The Macarthur Motorcycle Complex in Appin, Sydney’s southwest, is gearing up to host rounds three and four of the Yamaha Blu Cru Aussie Flat Track Nationals (AFTN) on October 26-27, promising a weekend packed with high-speed action and fierce rivalries.
Top riders like Tom Drane, Max Whale, and two-time AFTN champion Michael Kirkness will be joining the Pro 450 class, going head-to-head with names like Jarred Brook, Daniel Wicks, Thomas Herrick, and Cameron Dunker. Jarred Brook, the current Pro 450 leader following an impressive opening weekend in Brisbane, shared his excitement: “I was confident at my home track in Brisbane, and taking five out of seven wins has set me up well for Appin. But the track surface here is totally different, which brings new challenges. I’m really looking forward to it, especially with Mick (Kirkness), Max (Whale), and Tom (Drane) in the field. It’s going to be an interesting weekend, that’s for sure.”
Drane and Whale recently returned from their American Flat Track campaigns, where Drane clinched second place in the Singles class and Whale battled through the SuperTwins despite a mid-year ankle injury. Meanwhile, Kirkness will be riding an electric Stark bike, adding a unique twist to the competition against traditional combustion-powered bikes.
The Junior Lites, Junior 85cc, and Clubman Open classes will also showcase their skills, with current leaders Cooper Archibald (Husqvarna), Levi Layon (KTM), and Benny Thisleton (KTM) all set to compete.
With no livestream available, fans are encouraged to follow the action on social media or head to the track to catch the excitement live.
