BMW F900GS?

Several websites are running images of what’s claimed to be a prototype of a BMW 900GS. We don’t know how accurate the reports are, but after riding the Rallye X last week, we’re excited at the prospect of a 900.

Here’s how adventuremotorcycle.com reported it…

To compete in the mid-sized twin category, BMW is forced to revise their F800GS with better performance, more comfort, and sophisticated electronics. UK based motorcycle publication, MoreBikes, has scored spy shots of BMW’s latest mid-sized adventure bike, the 2018 F900GS.

The photos show numerous changes over the F800GS, including left side final drive, right side exhaust, and revised bodywork. A thinner frame and engine layout help achieve a narrow profile, a major plus for off road riding and shorter riders. The wheels also seem to be swapped for a tubeless design.

Is this bike enough to compete with Honda’s Africa Twin and KTM’s new 1090 Adventure R?
