BRP has revived the iconic Can-Am brand, introducing two new electric motorcycles—the Pulse and Origin—powered by Rotax technology. Known for its motocross prowess in the ’70s, Can-Am quickly became a name to reckon with, leveraging Rotax’s powerful two-stroke engines to dominate races. However, the brand faded from the scene by the late ’80s due to shifting corporate priorities.
Today, BRP is reentering the motorcycle market with a focus on electrification, reflecting industry trends. The Pulse and Origin mark a significant departure from traditional gasoline-powered bikes, showcasing innovative designs and engineering.

Cutting-Edge Power Units
The heart of these motorcycles lies in their integrated power units, a unique structural design where the battery pack, charger, inverter, controller, and motor are interlinked. This modular approach simplifies modifications, such as changing steering geometry, and enhances thermal management through liquid cooling for all components.
Both bikes feature a 35kW motor delivering around 47 peak horsepower, driving a sealed multi-link chain system that minimizes maintenance while ensuring durability. With a compact 8.9kWh battery, these motorcycles are lighter than many competitors, but this comes at the cost of range, with a maximum of about 100 miles under ideal conditions.

Smart Features and User Experience
Equipped with a 6.6kW charger compatible with Level 1 and 2, the Pulse and Origin offer quick charging capabilities, allowing users to recharge from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes. The 10.25-inch touchscreen dashboard, featuring Apple CarPlay, enhances connectivity and user experience.
With a five-year battery warranty, BRP demonstrates confidence in their product. While the electric motorcycle market is still evolving, the Can-Am Pulse and Origin stand out as bold new entries, blending historical legacy with modern technology. As the industry shifts towards electric mobility, these bikes may very well set the tone for the future of the Can-Am brand.
