CFMoto is gearing up to shake up the middleweight motorcycle market with the impending launch of the 675SR-R, a triple-cylinder sports bike that aims to rival established names like Triumph and Honda. This model has been in the spotlight since it was first previewed as a disguised prototype last year and showcased its all-new engine at EICMA in Milan last November. Earlier this year, a near-production version was presented to the Aspar GP team, which runs CFMoto-branded efforts in Moto2 and Moto3, setting the stage for what’s to come.
The 675SR-R is designed to cater to the growing demand for affordable middleweight motorcycles, carving its niche among riders looking for a blend of performance and value. Unlike traditional competitors like the Honda CBR600RR and Kawasaki ZX-6R, which come with a hefty price tag and track-focused designs, the CFMoto 675SR-R targets models like the Honda CBR650R and Suzuki GSX-8R, as well as the Triumph Daytona 660.

At the heart of this motorcycle is a 674cc triple-cylinder engine, initially producing 94bhp at 10,250rpm. This power output aligns with A2 licensing regulations, making the bike accessible to a wider range of riders. Notably, the engine boasts a redline of 12,300rpm, suggesting potential for even more power as the bike matures. Its torque figures are equally impressive, with 52lb.ft available at 8,250rpm, promising a broad and engaging power band.
The 675SR-R features a robust chrome-moly steel alloy frame paired with an aluminum swingarm, delivering a wheelbase of 1400mm. While this is shorter than that of the Daytona 660 and its competitors, it strikes a balance between agility and stability. High-quality components, including fully adjustable KYB forks and J.Juan four-pot radial brakes, enhance its sporty credentials while offering riders excellent control and comfort.
With aggressive styling and a performance-oriented design, the CFMoto 675SR-R stands poised to attract a new generation of riders looking for an engaging and affordable sports bike. As the motorcycle world eagerly anticipates its official launch later this year, it’s clear that CFMoto is serious about making a mark in the competitive landscape of middleweight motorcycles. Riders should keep an eye out for this promising newcomer!
