SPOT reaches 5000 rescues worldwide

0

SPOT LLC announced today its SPOT family of products has surpassed a milestone of initiating 5000 rescues around the world since its launch in 2007. The rescues have taken place on six continents and in over 89 countries. SPOT customers are currently initiating nearly two rescues a day. SPOT excludes test messages, false alarms, lost or stolen units and duplicate messages from rescue count.

Whether it’s a SPOT, InReach or some other brand, Adventure Rider Magazine encourages all riders to carry some form of satellite tracking device, and, with or without a tracker, every adventure rider should have a PLB.

We know we get a bit full-on when it comes to encouraging riders to carry PLBs/EPIRBs and satellite trackers, but think about it. It’s your own life you might be saving.
