“I just got back from a couple of days at Alice Springs prerunning the famous Finke Desert Race track.
“The plan is to race in June on the new R 1200 GS Rallye X. It wont be easy, but after the prerun I’m confident I can finish before the cut-off time. On Saturday I rode the course in both directions, 226km each way. The course was very rough in places from the heavy rains earlier this summer, but we got through pretty well.
“In general the bike performed really well. Now we know a few tips on how to set the bike up for the race. After the race we will be taking a small group of BMW Safari customers across the Simpson Desert, another ambitious challenge.
“Really looking forward to June!”
