0

Re-engineered with an almost completely new design, the new BMW R 1300 GS exemplifies innovation at its best – lighter, more dynamic and enthralling than before. Its release brings forth a thrilling fusion of power and agility that will not only aid in conquering trails but also promises unmatched adventure on every terrain.

Steeped in four decades of BMW Motorrad’s touring enduros’ expertise, the new R 1300 GS sees the classic boxer GS, but with an extraordinary weight reduction of 12 kg compared to its predecessor. This reduction pinpoints BMW’s ultimate aim of showcasing the essence of a boxer GS in a strikingly prominent way.

The heart of the design, the legendary two-cylinder boxer engine, has been revamped, making it more compact than ever before. Harnessing precisely 1,300 cc, it outputs a substantial 107 kW (145 hp) at 7,750 rpm, forming a peak torque of 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This makes it the most potent BMW boxer engine assembled in series till date.

The new suspension incorporates a steel-made sheet metal shell main frame which offers elevated stiffness levels compared to the previous model. The change to a die-cast aluminium construction from the former tubular steel structure for the rear frame also marks significant progress. The implementation of the new EVO Telelever front wheel guide with flex element and the improved EVO Paralever rear wheel guide further ensure greater steering precision and ride stability, truly embodying what BMW Motorrad represents in motorcycle engineering.

Another noteworthy feature in the new model is its electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA). Optional at ex-works, it delivers dynamic damping and spring rate adaptations based on selected riding mode, riding condition and manoeuvres, ensuring riders experience unparalleled safety, performance, and comfort.

The addition of Adaptive vehicle height control and sports suspension as further optional equipment at ex-works lifts the comfort level of the R 1300 GS to unparalleled heights. These changes demonstrate that BMW Motorrad has spared no efforts in enhancing the biking experience for their loyal customers.

Integration of new safety features such as the Active Cruise Control (ACC), along with Front Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Change Warning (SWW), show that BMW Motorrad is persistently pushing the limits of motorcycle safety.

The R 1300 GS once again notches up the standard with cutting-edge LED lights, hand protectors with integrated turn indicators, and an optional Headlight Pro feature, with the beam of the standard full LED headlamp turning into the bend according to the banking position.

Besides distinguishing features such as Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 719 Tramuntana, what sets the BMW R 1300 GS apart from the rest is the precise arrangement of highly functional components focused on the essentials; a masterpiece of clean and muscular design that embodies the legendary GS theme in pristine style.

Rider-oriented enhancements such as the heated grips, keyless ride, LiO starter battery and the multifunctional instrument cluster with 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen, all standard in the R 1300 GS, endorse this model’s commitment to increasing rider convenience and comfort.

The BMW R 1300 GS makes for a splendid fusion of uncompromising power, structural integrity, safety, and ultimate comfort. Its design innovations promise an adventurous ride on every terrain, setting a new benchmark for future evolution in the touring enduro segment.

With its impressive specifications and cutting-edge design, the new BMW R 1300 GS is poised to continue the legacy of being the prominent leader in the competitive field of touring enduros. We anticipate that the powerful and versatile R 1300 GS will indeed take the competition by surprise, setting a new pace in both on-road and off-road motorcycling experiences.
