Wilbers Nivomat Suspension: Revolutionizing Motorcycle Performance Without Electronics

Wilbers, a renowned German suspension manufacturer, has introduced an innovative new system designed to simplify the suspension setup for motorcycles. The Nivomat suspension system promises a perfect balance under all conditions, eliminating the need for electronic adjustment or complex technology.

Traditionally, riders had to adjust suspension settings to accommodate different loads manually, a cumbersome process. Alternatively, high-tech solutions like Skyhook electronics added cost and complexity. The Nivomat system, however, revolutionizes this process by using hydropneumatics, a technology borrowed from the automotive industry, now adapted for motorcycles.

The system consists of two oil chambers – a low-pressure chamber (acting as the oil reservoir) and a high-pressure chamber containing a gas cushion. These, combined with a pump rod and control valves, automatically regulate the bike’s suspension. Whether riding solo, with luggage, or a pillion, the Nivomat system maintains the bike’s geometry and sag, ensuring optimal performance.

This automatic adjustment occurs through the natural movement of the bike, as the pump rod balances pressure between the chambers. Within a short distance of riding, the suspension adjusts itself, ensuring the perfect ride without any intervention from the rider.

Darren Wnukoski, an expert in suspension systems, praised the innovation, calling it “revolutionary.” He emphasized that the system requires no maintenance or rider expertise to function optimally, making it a game-changer in the world of motorcycle suspension. Unlike electronic systems that constantly adjust based on varying data, the Nivomat offers consistent, reliable performance with preset parameters.

With Wilbers’ new suspension, the days of manually tweaking settings are over. This advancement ensures that every ride is smooth, regardless of load or riding conditions, offering an easy, efficient solution for motorcycle enthusiasts.
